Companion Service

Whether you have a mobility challenge or are unsure about using public transport, our trained companion service volunteers will be with you along the way. We’re here to support you to connect, engage, and participate in your community. Volunteer companions can meet you at a public transport hub in Melbourne or Seymour and accompany you to and from:

  • Appointments
  • Social activities
  • Events/attractions
  • Work
  • School/education

Who is eligible?

Any person who is able to travel independently, walk unassisted or with the help of a walking frame, and has their own transport costs covered is eligible to use the companion service. Our volunteers are unable to assist in pushing wheelchairs, carrying large luggage, or attending to people who require medical treatment, intravenous therapy, oxygen or other medical monitoring whilst using the service.

Operating hours

Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 6:30pm. Weekend or out-of-hours bookings may be arranged however it will depend on volunteer availability.

We prefer 72 hours’ notice for companion service bookings, however we will try our best to accommodate late notice bookings. For more information, call 1300 700 399 to speak to one of our friendly staff or book your companion service by clicking the button below.
