Try Before You Ride is an event aimed at building confidence when using public transport. We are looking forward to participating in the upcoming sessions and hope you can join us.
Build your confidence to travel on public transport at this free event.
- Speak with public transport staff
- Learn about accessibility features
- Practice getting on and off trains, trams, buses and taxis safely
When?
Thursday 6 October, 2022
Time:
10.30am to 2pm
Where?
Southern Cross Station and Tram Stop 125 at the corner of Clarendon Street and Whiteman Street, South Melbourne.
Travellers Aid will provide a buggy service between the two Try Before You Ride locations. We will also have mobility equipment for hire.
Public transport operators such as Yarra Trams, V/Line, Metro Trains, Kinetic and Taxis will exhibit stationary vehicles where attendees can practice boarding and disembarking, learn about accessibility features, and ask questions about the network and vehicles. This event is a great opportunity for Travellers Aid to support our ongoing partnerships with these providers and give people with accessibility needs and those with a lack of confidence on public transport an opportunity to familiarise themselves with public transport vehicles.
