In June 2021 Travellers Aid became a certified social enterprise with Social Traders. Registering with Social Traders enabled us to offer our services to the broader business sector;
- during times of service disruption
- at public events
- by participating in our Disability Awareness Training.
We enjoyed being a part of a community of for purpose businesses so much that this year we decided to go global! Becoming a People and Planet First verified social enterprise.
With customers choosing brands that align with their desire for a fair and sustainable world and governments recognising this through their social procurement policies, organisations and businesses that contribute to positive social impact are being prioritised. The services we provide deliver on our purpose to enabling people’s independence, freedom and choice and they also create positive change by increasing awareness of accessibility and inclusion in the planning stage of infrastructure, services and programs.
With a focus on 5 shared core standards, we join like-minded organisations from around the world in creating positive social impact.
The 5 shared People and Planet First core standards are:
