Health Promotion Projects
Travellers Aid | an experienced partner in health promotion projects for Victorians in need.
With our long history in assisting travellers and supporting vulnerable communities, Travellers Aid is the ideal partner to deliver targeted and effective health promotion projects to people visiting our service centres.
Travellers Aid is well-placed to work with your organisation in delivering meaningful and respectful health promotion services to the people who need them, when and where they can best use them.
Proven experience in delivering health promotion projects
In 2022, the Victorian Government selected Travellers Aid to deliver Partners for Change at their Melbourne’s Southern Cross Station site.
Through the program, Travellers Aid received additional funding to engage with and support people from low socio-economic backgrounds, or those sleeping rough.
Victoria’s Department of Health selected Travellers Aid to implement this important program because of our strong history of respectful and effective support for this group of people.
Partners for Change was aimed at people already using Travellers Aid’s shower facilities at Southern Cross Station, as well as others in need who could benefit from the services offered.
The program delivered additional health initiatives, including information on COVIDSafe behaviours, how to do a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT), vaccination and other preventative care needs, as well as meal vouchers and Myki card top-ups.
The initiative enabled Travellers Aid staff to extend its support of this community, further demonstrating our experience in delivering effective, meaningful and accessible assistance to those who need it most.
