When Jay’s mum needed a little extra assistance to attend her graduation last year, the family called Travellers Aid.
The mobility equipment hire process was quick and easy and made all the difference to her mum who was able to participate in the event with family.
Thank you to Travellers Aid for providing a wheelchair for my mum so she could attend my RMIT graduation. Due to arthritis, knee pain and mobility challenges with standing for long periods, the wheelchair made a huge difference.
Mum was comfortable throughout the ceremony and loved every moment of this special occasion.

Not long afterwards, we were contacted by Jay and her family with a very generous gift of a wheelchair to add to our mobility equipment fleet. If you’ve hired our equipment before, you know that we give each piece of equipment a name and have called this one Ramesh in loving memory of Jay’s dad.
We are also grateful for accepting this donation in memory of my dad, Ramesh, who passed away four years ago. He was a kind, loving, and polite person who enjoyed travelling and valued spending time with family. He approached life with optimism, determination and a sense of adventure. Although he could not be there to celebrate this milestone, his love and encouragement continue to inspire us every day.
We remembered Dad this Father’s Day with love, gratitude, and appreciation for everything he taught us.

A range of mobility equipment can be hired from our service hubs at Southern Cross or Flinders Street Stations in Melbourne, Monday to Friday from 11am – 3pm. The equipment can be hired by anyone needing some additional support, and includes electric scooters, wheelchairs, strollers, walking sticks, walking frames and crutches.
This Mobility Equipment Hire Service is supported by a grant from the City of Melbourne however we also rely on the generous contributions from our donors to ensure the equipment is well maintained and replaced when required.
