Travellers Aid operates year round Connection Assistance services, including buggy transfers, wheelchair assistance and personal guidance, at Southern Cross Station Melbourne and Seymour Station in regional Victoria. Wheelchair assistance and personal guidance is available at Ballarat Station.
Connection Assistance bookings:
- 24 hours notice preferred
- Can be met from your car, train, bus, airport transfer or taxi
These services are available at no cost.
Connection Assistance
Southern Cross Station
Southern Cross Station is Melbourne’s largest public transport hub. Servicing both metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria it has 16 train platforms, a bus depot, airport transfers, a taxi rank and several tram stops right at its doorstep.
At Southern Cross Station, we provide free:
- Buggy transfer
- Manual wheelchair access
- Personal guidance services for people with vision impairments
The service is handy for seniors and people with disability or mobility impairments who require assistance navigating Southern Cross Station.
24 hours notice is preferred to ensure we can meet you at your train, bus or taxi platform. Our buggies operate 7 days a week meeting and assisting passengers connect with other modes of transport on their journey.

Southern Cross Station Connection Assistance Service is supported by Infranexus Management Pty Ltd, PTV and the Home and Community Care (HACC) Program.

Ballarat Railway Station
Ballarat Railway Station is a transport hub and bus interchange in regional Victoria.
Travellers Aid provides a free Wheelchair Connection Assistance service to assist people with mobility needs who are transiting through Ballarat Station.
The wheelchair assistance service operates from Monday to Friday meeting and assisting passengers from the car parks, taxi rank, local bus and connecting V/Line coach services to and from the station platforms.

Connection Assistance
Seymour Railway Station
Seymour Railway Station is a transport hub and bus interchange in regional Victoria. It has three train platforms over 200 metres from the car park and bus stops via a wheelchair accessible access tunnel.
Travellers Aid provides a free Connection Assistance service to assist people with mobility needs who are transiting through Seymour Station.
The buggy transfer service operates from Monday to Friday meeting and assisting passengers from the car parks, taxi rank, local bus and connecting V/Line coach services to and from the station platforms.

I’d seen Travellers Aid at Southern Cross before but had never used your services previously. The people there were “lifesavers” for me. After a short wait a gentleman put me and my luggage onto a buggy and took me around to the platform to catch a suburban train to my destination. His help was brilliant.”
