Our Mobility Assistants provide essential support to passengers across the city and beyond.
Have you seen our Mobility Assistants out and about lately? We’ve been working with our partners at the Department of Transport, Metro Trains, Southern Program Alliance, V/Line and Yarra Trams to support passengers impacted by road, tram and train upgrades.
We’ve had the pleasure of venturing from Melbourne CBD to South Geelong, East Packenham and the many suburbs in between to offer mobility assistance services via minibus, buggy and wheelchair to those of you who need it.
One passenger, Steve, was making the trip into the city from Phillip Island. Travelling with some friends, the group came across the works at La Trobe St West and subsequently met a very helpful Graham from Travellers Aid. Steve’s venture into the city was his first since becoming a paraplegic in recent years. It was fantastic to see his confidence greatly improved upon knowing that Travellers Aid can assist him when he chooses to visit Melbourne again.
