Although Travellers Aid services in Ballarat have only been operating for a short time, we are seeing our presence having a significant impact on the experience of the travelling public traversing through Ballarat Station.
As of April 2023, Travellers Aid Ballarat service hub has been in full swing. Assisting passengers with disability, mobility impairment or people with general requirements from platforms to bus, taxi/uber or other connecting transportation. Site Supervisor Lynda and her volunteers have been doing a great job in supporting local community, tourists and passengers transiting through the station especially during the colder winter months.
“I just wanted to say thanks to the lovely travellers aid woman (sorry I didn’t catch her name) at Ballarat station who helped me and my daughter find the buses on Monday. She made us feel really welcome!“ – Travellers Aid service user
The Melbourne team enjoy our trips to Ballarat and highly recommend a visit to check out the local scene (and food!). With tickets now a daily capped fare, it’s well worth the journey.
