Protective Service Officers - the importance of awarenessThe Victorian Government has recently announced the introduction of 940 Protective Services Officers (PSOs) on metropolitan and major regional train stations from 6pm until the last train, every day of the year. As well as highlighting safety issues, introducing PSOs brings to the fore another wider issue - the importance of ensuring that those who are tasked with protecting diverse members of the public are flexible, educated and aware. Medical Companion ProjectNow even more trained volunteers are available to meet patients at Flinders Street Station and Southern Cross Station and accompany them to and from their health appointments in Melbourne by public transport. |
