Nazimah's story - with a note from our CEO

Every time I hear about the impact of Travellers Aid Australia’s Emergency Relief program, I am deeply grateful to people like you who have made gifts so that we can provide needed support to people facing difficult times in their lives.

We support the NDIS

On Friday 5 August 2011, Travellers Aid Australia CEO Jodie Willmer and clients Amy and Carl met with Ms Andrea Coote MLC, Victorian Parliamentary Secretary for Family and Community Services and James O'Brien from Every Australian Counts.

We met at Southern Cross Station to demonstrate our strong support for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It was wonderful to be able  discuss such important issues with each other on the day. Our thanks go to Amy, Carl, James and Ms Andrea Coote, MLC for their time.

175,000 services for Travellers Aid Australia at Flinders Street Station

This week Travellers Aid Australia officially celebrates providing its 175,000th service to travellers in need at Flinders Street Station. Travellers Aid Australia is a not-for-profit organisation that provides vital travel-related support for everyday travellers in Melbourne.

29-year-old Amy who studies social work at university and has Cerebral Palsy, is a long-term user of Travellers Aid Australia’s services after first hearing about it from a friend ten years ago. Intrigued about the free access to accessible bathrooms and support, Amy now visits Travellers Aid Australia regularly while attending university in the CBD.
